5 Outstanding Qualities Highly Successful Leaders Possess

Iconic and visionary leaders like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Steve Jobs have shown unwavering confidence and an ever-growing hunger to bring on transformations in human life. But these great and highly successful leaders are more exceptions than conventional beliefs of leadership when it comes to defining successful leaders. Leaders who are highly successful in fact possess the qualities that may seem to be counterintuitive at the beginning.

To throw more light on what I am trying to say above, I have compiled a list of the five most common leadership and behavioral traits found in great leaders.

1. Doubt - highly successful leaders have this on themselves.

It might seem to be counterintuitive, but still, embracing self-doubt and seeking to settle for your sense of insecurities can have a benefiting effect on your ability to steer. Self-doubt helps prevent many risky and hurried decisions. It prompts us to evaluate our work and results more closely to eliminate possible mistakes and makes the decisions safer.

However, self-doubting shouldn't be allowed to turn your internal critic into a self-destructive mechanism. It should be a facilitator to promote the positive thought process and keep negative and paralyzing thoughts in control. You should be watchful over your internal critic to benefit from self-doubting. In short, this is a process to get answers to difficult questions and making simple solutions for complex situations.

2. Don't be fully unbiased.

The common conception of highly successful leaders is that they have an answer to any question, even before the question comes up. But that's not true, and they don't try to do everything on their own. Instead, they look for connections with their team members and look for opinions to establish an environment that is suitable for everyone's growth instead of just their own.

Collaborative leadership boosts the motivation level of the group which results in superb performances and great solutions to the needs.

3. They know when to let go.

Great leaders know it well that when to let the power and control go, how to let it go, and to whom. Leading means providing guidance, counseling, and direction instead of just practicing supervision and control.

According to Mark Boncheck, the CEO of Shift, leaders can learn a lot about letting go of the usual military approach.

"Over centuries, the defense force has developed an approach to managing 'the fog of struggle,'"

Boncheck wrote in Harvard business evaluation.

"Generals need to be certain alignment to the strategy, whereas soldiers need autonomy to retort to altering situations."

5. They don't think being influenced is a weakness.

Standing up to their opinions and principles and solidness are thought to be the extraordinary trait of a successful leader. But the highly successful leaders don't necessarily possess these traits. They don't think being influenced is a weakness and don't hesitate to change or update their stand as and when needed.

We commonly judge leaders by how solid they stand via their opinions and principles, and the way unmoving they continue to be in the face of challenges that threaten these beliefs. however, the most fulfilling leaders remember that being influenced by means of backyard forces isn't a weak spot, it's key energy. In fact, they are actually open to accept the factors which influence them.
