1) Common Admission Test (CAT):

This is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) all over India for screening out the best managerial students. These candidates are admitted into one of the seven B-schools of IIM. Several other business schools in India also use this exam scores for their admission.

2) Xavier’s Admission Test (XAT):

XAT is conducted by the Xavier’s Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur for filtering out and admitting candidates in its PG management courses. The Xavier’s Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar (XIMB) and XLRI consider the scores gained in this exam for the admission. Further, more than seventy other B-schools in India also consider the scores in this exam.

3) IIT-JEE:

In India, there are fifteen Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) offering Bachelor’s degree programs in many technological, engineering and scientific disciplines. Integrated M.Tech. programs in certain disciplines and Integrated M.Sc. programs in applied and pure sciences are also offered by some IITs. 4) All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE):

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is a common engineering entrance exam held every year to find the best aspiring engineers for admitting into the B.Arch/ B.Planning and B.Tech programs in institutions including Delhi Technological University, IIITs, Technical Institutions, Deemed Universities, National Institutes of Technology, and government-funded institutions of this sort.

5) All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Medical Entrance Exam:

This medical entrance examination is conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for filling seats in their MBBS program. Only some 70 seats are available to be filled through this exam. However, over 80,000 students compete for it.

8 ) Graduate Management Test (GMAT):

For admitting candidates into the business schools abroad, the GMAT is conducted. It is a standardized test which admits candidate into Masters in Accountancy, MBA, and other business administration courses. 9) Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):

This exam evaluates the candidates English language knowledge in the academic setting. 10) Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT):

The College Board in the USA conducts this standardized test for admitting candidates into colleges there. The SAT exam assesses the academic readiness of a candidate to study in a college and hence evaluates the candidate’s writing and literacy skills.
