7 Ways You Can Improve Your Metabolism in Cold Season

1. Have enough and quality sleep
Sleep plays very important role in keeping your metabolism proper and weight in control. Lake of proper and enough sleep interferes with our body’s ability to metabolize food and prompt you to keep eating more than you need. People with less sleep tend to consume a lot of junk foods and it results into weight gain. 7 to 8 hours of sleep is enough to stay fit and energetic throughout the day. Develop a habit of going to sleep and wake up on a set time daily. This will help you stay fit and healthy as you will be regular in your workout even in the cold season too!

2. Join fitness center
Join a fitness center and go regularly. Go in group of friends or go as couple. This will help you stay motivated. Cardio exercise will burn a lot of calories and make your heart healthy. Weight lifting and strength training will shape your muscles and stop losing strength as you grow old, especially when you are less active in cold season.

4. Stay away from sugar and dairy products
These are the main culprits for the fat and health issues in modern world. Sugar disturbs the metabolism. The pancreas releases the insulin to neutralize the sugar from our blood, but when you take overdose of sugar, your pancreas has to work hard. With our less hardworking lifestyle and fatty foods especially dairy products loaded with a lot of sugar, our body loses the capacity to keep sugar and fat in control and we get overweight. Our pancreas loses the capacity to release enough insulin to control sugar. As a result, the sugar can't be converted into the energy and distributed to the cells and is added as fat and creates a lot of health issues consequently.

5. Avoid too much alcohol consumption
It is easy to over-consume alcohol during celebrations and parties, and this results in fat on your buts and tummy. Your body consumes your fat to get energy, but alcohol makes it difficult for your body to do so. It tries hard to get rid of the extra alcohol instead of doing what it should, i.e. converting fat into energy. So the alcohol is burned but the calories are left. To avoid situation, limit the consumption of alcohol per day.

6. Use apps for reminders and organizing a healthy routine
You can find and download some good apps which will remind you about the time you need to go to sleep, wakeup, do workout, avoid junk food during hours between two meals, include healthy food in your meals.

7. Have people with healthy habits around you
This will help you stay motivated and inspire you develop same healthy habits. If you have a friend or colleague who is healthy and fit because of his healthy habits and routine, you will feel the need of staying at the same physical and mental level. Healthy and fit people in your friend circle can make you inspired to have fit body and you will have a reason for healthy habits like regular workouts, eating healthy food, avoiding alcohol, regular sleep and wakeup time etc.
